Cosy fantasy • Supernatural mysteries • Gentle chaos

Stories for readers who like their magic mysterious… and their peril manageable.

Welcome, I’m M.A. Knights. I write warm, slightly strange tales: paranormal investigations, curious creatures, and people doing their best in worlds that don’t always cooperate.

If you enjoy mysteries solved with tea, biscuits, and the occasional supernatural inconvenience, you may wish to stay a while.

Found family, whimsical dread (the polite kind), folklore with opinions, Tea, always.

No pop-ups. No autoplay. No nonsense.

Supernatural investigations

Edwardian cases, odd clues, stranger suspects. Mostly solvable. Usually.

Cosy fantasy with teeth

Warmth, humour, and heart, plus the occasional genuinely inconvenient monster.

Reading challenges & community

Gentle accountability, long-form book chat, and permission to be a bit chaotic about it.

Start with a free story

Hobgoblins Don’t Like Honey is a short prequel to the Trussel & Gout: Paranormal Investigations series.

It’s a gentle introduction to the world, the tone, and the sort of strange problems these books enjoy exploring, the kind of world where folklore has opinions and rarely keeps quiet.

When you sign up, you’ll receive the free ebook via BookFunnel, and then hear from me once or twice a month at most with book news, reading updates, and the occasional curiosity.

Delivered via BookFunnel.

Trussel & Gout: Paranormal Investigations

Set in Edwardian Britain, the Trussel & Gout books follow a baker, an enigmatic occult investigator, and a growing collection of people who really didn’t expect their lives to turn out like this.

Expect cosy mysteries, peculiar folklore, eccentric characters, and magic that tends to complicate matters rather than resolve them.

These are mostly short, comforting reads, ideal if you like your stories strange but welcoming, and your danger kept at a polite distance.

Castle Blackwood

Castle Blackwood is a darker, more folkloric fantasy series, steeped in old magic, uneasy bargains, and the kind of myths that remember everything.

These stories are sharper around the edges, more interested in consequence than comfort, and rather less inclined to look away.

If you prefer your fantasy strange, shadowed, and faintly disapproving of humanity, this is where to go next.

A little about me

I’m M.A. Knights, a British author writing cosy fantasy and supernatural fiction with a fondness for folklore, oddities, and people who find themselves in situations they did not sign up for.

My stories tend to favour atmosphere over spectacle, character over carnage, and magic that arrives quietly, tracks mud through the hallway, and refuses to leave.

I write for readers who enjoy gentler pacing, slightly crooked worlds, and stories that feel like somewhere you could safely return to.

You can usually find me talking about books, reading challenges, and fictional people who are doing their best on TikTok.
